The turbines are scheduled to go into service at the beginning of 2024, with delivery and installation work beginning in the autumn of 2023. A 15-year maintenance agreement is included in the order RE Alloys, a producer of ferrosilicon and other silicon-based alloys, is launching its operations with the Dzwola wind farm. This deal is an integral part of a larger initiative to meet RE Alloys' long-term goal of meeting 100% of the company's energy needs through renewable means.
As the third largest manufacturer of ferrosilicon in Europe, RE Alloys uses more energy than the city of Katowice, therefore "this programme will assist the environment," as stated by RE Alloys CEO Miroslaw Wilczek. Furthermore, he says, "it will stabilise solid jobs in the mining community, where they are critically needed, as well as the municipal money essential to deliver high-quality public services."
For Nordex, chief sales officer Patxi Landa said, "This order is further evidence of our good technology, which has been proven and tested for years. Ten turbines were ordered by Poland and will be supplied and installed by the Nordex Group. This order will be fulfilled by RE Alloys's wholly-owned subsidiary, Wind Farm Lada. In addition to the N131/3600 turbines, the order also includes 15 years of Premium Service.
Construction of the 'Dzwola' 35 MW wind farm has begun in the region of Lublin in south-eastern Poland, close to the city of Zamosc. The turbines are anticipated to begin operating at the beginning of 2024, with delivery and installation work beginning in the autumn of 2023. RE Alloys, an industry-leading producer of ferrosilicon and silicon-based alloys, is launching its first wind farm, dubbed "Dzwola."
The deal is a piece of a larger plan to meet all of RE Alloys' energy needs using green power generated in-house. According to Miroslaw Wilczek, CEO of RE Alloys, "this programme will assist the environment as we are the third largest manufacturer of ferrosilicon in Europe and use more energy than the city of Katowice." Plus, as the author notes, "it will stabilise solid jobs in the mining community, where they are critically needed, as well as the municipal income essential to deliver high-quality public services."
"For Nordex, this order is once again evidence of our good technology, which has been proven and tested for years," said Patxi Landa, CSO of the Nordex Group. We're excited to get started with RE Alloys on their first wind farm.
